James Hodgdon passed away at his home in Rio Rancho on Feb. 25, 2026.  He was born into a loving family on Dec. 21, 1970, in Billings, Montana. As a child growing up in Montana, his family made sure that he had the ability to play every sport he wanted, and he played them all, and he was great!

It was a big change for him to move all the way down to Los Alamos, New Mexico when he was 15, but it turned into a great opportunity. SAMUEL ‘BO’ HUEY Feb. 8, 1979 – Feb. 12, 2026

Samuel “Bo” Huey, son of Samuel Huey Jr. and Loretta “Jeanie” McCleary Huey of Dexter, Missouri, was born on February 8, 1979, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed this life on February 12, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 47 years.

Mr. Huey was of the Catholic faith, a former member of the Missouri National Guard and a farmer for Chris Porter. Bo enjoyed farming and being outside.

On October 9, 2025, in Bernie, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rachel Blevins. Mrs. Huey survives in their home in Bernie.

CHARLES ALFRED ANDERSON March 2, 1935 – Jan. 26, 2026

Charles Alfred Anderson, born March 2, 1935, in Brockway, Pennsylvania, to Carl Arthur and Lillian Anderson, passed away on January 26, after a life defined by academic curiosity and scholarship. The son of dairy farmers and grandson of Swedish immigrants, Charles—known to all as Chuck—was the first of the extended Anderson/Johnson clan to attend college.

With determination and academic talent, Chuck attended Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics. Read More

Lenora Chavez, a resident of Los Alamos since August 15, 1943, passed away in Albuquerque, NM. 

Lenora was born in Albuquerque, NM to Trinidad and Juanita Chavez. She was proceeded in her death by her brother Ignacio Chavez, sister Dolores Chavez, and her parents Trinidad and Juanita Chavez.

ROGER CHADWICK GARTZ Dec. 16, 1940 – Feb 5, 2026 

Dr. Roger Chadwick Gartz was a man of deep faith, tireless service, and good humor, who spent his life alongside his wife Connie helping others through faithful church service, missionary work, and dental humanitarian efforts in his community and around the world. He died at age 85 from lymphoma.

Rene Marie Balagna passed away quietly at her place of residence in Rio Rancho, NM on December 1, 2025. She was born in Los Alamos on May 22, 1953, to John & Jean Balagna. She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Lisa.
