SAMUEL ‘BO’ HUEY Feb. 8, 1979 – Feb. 12, 2026
Samuel “Bo” Huey, son of Samuel Huey Jr. and Loretta “Jeanie” McCleary Huey of Dexter, Missouri, was born on February 8, 1979, in Sikeston, Missouri, and departed this life on February 12, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 47 years.
Mr. Huey was of the Catholic faith, a former member of the Missouri National Guard and a farmer for Chris Porter. Bo enjoyed farming and being outside.
On October 9, 2025, in Bernie, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Rachel Blevins. Mrs. Huey survives in their home in Bernie.
Along with his wife and parents, he is survived by two sons, Ayden Huey and Grayson Huey both of Bernie, Missouri; by two step-sons, Brooks White and Owen White both of Bernie, Missouri; by two step-daughters, Lyla White of Bernie, Missouri, and Mariah Martinez of Miner, Missouri; by two sisters, Crystal Bishop and husband Beau of Dexter, Missouri and Ashley Jarrell and husband Mike of Bloomfield, Missouri; by his paternal grandmother, Irene Huey of Dexter, Missouri; by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Wanda Blevins of Bernie, Missouri; by three nieces, one nephew and one great-niece; and by numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation was held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services were conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Mike Lee officiating.

Editor’s note: Bo Huey served as a wildland firefighter for Bandelier National Monument during fire season from approximately 2004 to 2007 while he lived in Los Alamos and worked at Los Alamos Medical Center in the off season with Dr. Barnard.
