Summer in Taos is Chamber Music Heaven

CELEBRATE OPUS 50, TAOS SCHOOL OF MUSIC’S 50th ANNIVERSARY
 
 
The Smithsonian calls it the #2 “Best Small Town” in America. Forbes says the “stunningly beautiful mountain community north of Santa Fe” is the #3 “Prettiest Town in America.” 
And we’re here to tell you when it comes to experiencing exquisite chamber music, Taos, New Mexico is #1 by far.
This summer, 19 talented young performers, students from the nation’s leading conservatories, will be in residence for eight weeks. They will perform a stunning Young Artists concert series at the Hotel St. Bernard in Taos Ski Valley and the Taos Community Auditorium.
A stellar lineup of international musical talent is scheduled to appear in Opus 50. The Borremeo String Quartet will perform with special guests Jupiter String Quartet at 7:30 p.m., Sunday June 17. At , also at 7:30 p.m., Sunday July 1, pianist and artistic director Robert McDonald will perform with the Borremeo. Performing at 7:30 p.m., Sunday July 15 is the Shanghai Quartet, with Robert McDonald and special guest cellist Chris Costanza; followed by a 7:30 p.m., Wednesday July 18 concert with Robert McDonald, with special guests American String Quartet.  At 7:30 p.m., Sunday July 29, the Brentano String Quartet will be on stage with Michael Tree, violist and Thomas Sauer, pianist and special guest Chris Costanza. 
All concerts and seminars are low cost ($20 adults; $10 under 16) or free.
