Candia And Marr Tie For Best Predictor In Pace Race

Roxana Candia and Duane Marr each had a 3 second differential from their predicted time to tie for best predictor in the weekly pace race held Tuesday across from the Laboratory “S” Site. 
 
Candia also was the fastest female on the 3 mile paved course with a time of 28:42 and Marr was the fastest male on the 1 mile paved course at 20:29.
 
Other accurate predictors are:

Los Alamos High School State Champion Golf Program Tryouts Aug. 14-16

LAHS GOLF Program News:
 
The Los Alamos High School State Champion Golf program will begin its 2019-2020 school year program Aug. 14 with tryouts. 
 
All LAHS boys and girls 9-12 graders and Los Alamos middle school 8th graders are eligible to tryout for the golf teams.
 
The program will hold tryouts at 3:30 p.m., Aug. 14-16 at the Los Alamos Golf Course. Tryouts consist of two nine-hole rounds (Wednesday and Friday) and one short course round (Thursday). 
 
Regular practices begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19.

Mechelle Taylor aces the 6th hole at Los Alamos Golf Course during Tuesday night league play July 23. She struck a 9 iron 117 yards into the hole. Playing companions Julie Gaynor, Wendy Swanson and Becky Farhham witnessed the hole-in-one. NFHS, Butler University Announce Research Study On Value Of High School Activity Programs

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (July 23, 2019) — The National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and Butler University will work together on a 10-year research study to assess the value of high school sports and other activity programs from the perspective of students’ mothers.
