LAPS News:
The Friends of the Los Alamos County Libraries, in partnership with the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, last month awarded the June Ettinger Memorial Scholarship to Bethany Rose Click for her review of the book Sometimes We Tell the Truth.
The scholarship was created to honor those who love books. Applicants were asked to write a personal narrative concerning an age-appropriate book that was not required for school and that has not been translated into a visual medium. The narrative had to demonstrate in what ways the book added to the student’s understanding of the human condition or had enhanced his or her life. Click wrote about Sometimes We Tell the Truth, a modern retelling of The Canterbury Tales.
Click plans to attend Rice University in the fall where she will study Physics. She is the daughter of Jeff and Alicia Click.
Funds for the June Ettinger Memorial Scholarship are managed by the Los Alamos Public Schools Foundation, an independent organization that supports, challenges, and invests in a successful future for all Los Alamos public school students.
