Sipapu Offers Events And Extra Hour Of Skiing

VADITO  Sipapu Ski Resort officials announced that operating hours will change with Sunday’s Daylight Saving Time, providing skiers with an extra hour on the slopes. 
 
Sunday, March 12 through Saturday, March 18, lifts will turn 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Sunday, March 19 through Sunday, March 26, Sipapu will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
 
Sipapu will then be open 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.weekends only, April 1 and 2 and April 8 and 9. For the latest conditions, visit Sipapu’s snow report
 
Springtime means sunny, bluebird days, great skiing and fun events. This weekend, enjoy some of Sipapu’s biggest activities. Saturday, Mar. 11 is Sipapu’s 14th annual Cardboard Derby, and Santa Fe Brewing Happy Hops Hunt, then enjoy a special taping of Red Dawn Saison.   
 
Saturday March 18 at 1 p.m., head to Sipapu’s base area for the 13th annual Pond Skimming Contest across the man-made “Lake Sipapu”, which is 75 feet long and 3 feet deep. Sierra Nevada Brewing will offer up craft beer with cool giveaways during the event and après ski. 
 
March 20 through March 24, kids can enjoy spring break on the slopes with the Yeti Club, a day camp for kids ages 6 to 10 years that offers ski and ride instruction. Single-day and five-day program options available. Registration ends March 17.
