The LANL Foundation, through the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund, offers $1000 Regional College/Returning Student Scholarships to adult students who put education on hold and are now returning to school to seek new career opportunities or training.

Applications may be submitted online with a Dec. 1 deadline for January awards.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate that they have been accepted into or are currently pursuing professional certification or a two-year degree at an accredited regional college.

Residence in Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe or Taos County for 366 consecutive days is required.

Selection preference is shown toward applicants who have been away from formal education for a period of two years or more.

Preference may also be given to students in programs related to science, technology, engineering, mathematics and related vocations, although strong applications in any program area are considered.

Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund is managed by the LANL Foundation with oversight provided by an advisory committee of volunteer donors.
