LAHS News:
Although the weather was frightful, it was a very good day for the Los Alamos High School Boys and Girls Track & Field athletes at the 2-5A District Championship Friday and Saturday at Bernalillo High School.
LAHS qualified many more athletes for the remaining relays at the upcoming State Championship Friday and Saturday at the UNM Track in Albuquerque.
Individual District Champions for the Boys included Skyler McCall in the high jump, Jonathan Shueler in the shot put and discus, Ralph Archbold in the 110 m and 300 m hurdles, Buddy Weaver in the 800 m, Cameron Staples in the 1600 m, Victor Kim in the 3200 m, and the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 and medley relay teams.
Individual District Champions for the Girls included Chelsea Challacombe in the 100 m hurdles, Sisi Ahlers in the 800 m, Sophia Galvez in the 1600 m, Maddy Foley in the 3200 m, Fiona Rogers in both the high jump and pole vault, Liz Lockhart in the triple jump (breaking her own LAHS school record twice and posting the longest jump in the state for 5A), and the 4×100, 4×400, and medley relay teams.
