SPORTS News:
The varsity boys and girls soccer teams traveled to the annual Albuquerque Academy Invitational soccer tournament Sept. 9-11.
Despite the extremely hot weather, both teams played very well, each winning two of their three matches.
The girls opened the tournament with a win against Roswell Thursday and fell to Hope Christian Friday. They went on to play Piedra Vista Saturday morning, which ended in a thrilling PK shootout won by the Toppers.
The boys lost their first game on Thursday to Hobbs, but followed it up with two commanding victories against St. Pius and Piedra Vista.
