UNMLA News:

Fall classes at the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos (UNM-LA) will begin on August 22.

Registration is open, and there is still available space in most classes. UNM-LA offers academic classes and academic programs in a variety of subjects to help students who are interested in increasing their knowledge, improving their skills, entering the workforce, or transferring to four-year degree programs.

In addition to traditional face to face classes, UNM-LA also offers online and hybrid classes (a combination of face-to- face and online) to help meet the various scheduling issues and learning style preferences of students. There are a few classes that will start later in the semester as well.

Chief Executive Officer Dr. Cindy Rooney noted, “Some interesting classes that still have space available include Mechanical Engineering Design I, Intro to Digital Imaging and Scanning, Introduction to Maps and Geospatial Information (GIS), Intro to Geology, EMT Basic, Anatomy and Physiology, Business Law, Intro to Income Tax, Greek Mythology, Elementary Japanese, Ecology and Evolution, Painting. These classes, and others, represent the diversity of choices available at UNM-LA this semester.”

UNM-LA classes are known for quality instruction, small class size, and reasonable tuition rates. Class size is typically fewer than twenty-five students taught by faculty with both appropriate academic credentials and work experience in their fields. Degree seeking students have twenty Associate Degree program choices as well as six Certificate programs.

Those wishing to enroll can do so either online or on the UNM-LA campus. For questions or more information about enrollment, contact UNM-LA Student Services at 505.662.0332, or visit losalamos.unm.edu.
