Letter To The Editor: Regarding Sheriff’s Lawsuit

The election on Question 1 (Sheriff elimination) will not be stopped and the result will be valid. A careful reading of the complaint for declaratory judgment and injunction filed against the county and the “Los Alamos Board of Commissioners (sic)” reveals it is full of technical defects and substantive omissions and errors.
 
It displays an appalling lack of information about the constitutional and statutory background of Los Alamos County, its charter, the institution of sheriff and our police department.

The Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) for Forensic Science has approved theNational Fire Protection Association Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations for inclusion on the OSAC Registry, which serves as a trusted repository of high-quality, science-based standards and guidelines for forensic practice.
 
This is the first guideline to be included on the OSAC Registry, where it joins the first standard, which was listed earlier this year.

So a week and a half ago I got a call at 9 o’clock on a Sunday morning from one of our clients. He was badly shaken up from an accident the night before. He was driving on a four lane highway just outside of Santa Fe when out of nowhere a drunk driver hit him. ALBUQUERQUE ― A federal jury sitting in Las Cruces returned a verdict yesterday finding Amado Acevedo-Gonzalez, 36, a Mexican national, and Yolanda Rodriguez, 50, a U.S. citizen who formerly resided in Mexico, guilty on drug trafficking offenses and money laundering charges after a four-day trial.
