FRIENDS OF THE SHELTER News
On Sunday, April 1st, the Posse Lodge Breakfast will benefit the Friends of the Shelter. Enjoy a delicious breakfast with your friends and neighbors. All proceeds go to help the animals. You can register early for the Dog Jog which will be held on April 28th. There will also be a doggie kissing booth and mobile adoption event.
When: Sunday, April 1 – 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Where: 650 North Mesa Rd. (near the horse stables)
2012 Dog Jog Update
And The Winner Is…
A big congratulation to Kaylee Rogers for creating the winning design for the 2012 Dog Jog Logo! Kaylee is a fourth-grader at Barranca Elementary School and says she entered the contest because she likes to draw and thinks it would be fun to enter. She attends Barranca Elementary School and likes art, music and baton twirling.
Kaylee poses with her dog, Penny, who was adopted by her family from the Santa Fe Animal Shelter just over a year ago. Penny was the inspiration for her artwork.
The competition was steep this year with the most entries we have seen in years, so we also send out a big THANK YOU to all those who put their best artistic talents forward in hopes of landing a spot in Dog Jog history. 2nd Place – Michaelle Sutton, 3rd Place – Kristen Pimentel, 4th Place – Frances Laurent and Makenna Ellsworth, Honorable mentions also given to Elia Vasquez, Amaya Coblentz, Dara Armstrong, and Rachel Frankle.
The 2012 Dog Jog will be held Saturday, April 28th at Chamisa Elementary School in White Rock. To enter, please visit lafos.org or one of many pet-friendly locations around town (including Pet Pangaea, veterinarian offices, etc.) to pick up an entry form.
Dog Jog pre-registration is underway until April 6th.
The entry fees are:
$20 for the first adult or child 12 years or older ($25 after pre-registration)
$35 for 2 adults in the same household ($40 after pre-registration)
$25 for a registration with one child and one adult ($30 after pre-registration)
$15 for each additional adult or child over 12 years in the same household
$5 for each additional child
Registration is available up to, and including, the day of the event.
$20 microchips will be available again this year!
