Former Los Alamos County Councilor
There are some good candidates from both parties running for County Council. As an independent (DTS) voter, I plan to ask for a Democrat ballot and vote for Steve Lynne, the candidate I have known and worked with for decades.
I worked with Steve when I was on Council and when we were on the Charter Review Committee. As a former Chief Financial Officer and County Manager, Steve has served our county well and is the most knowledgeable of the candidates.
In my experience working with Steve, he demonstrated prudent judgment and fiscal integrity. When times were good Steve advocated for infrastructure improvements rather than increasing the payroll. Steve was the leader in establishing a 20% reserve in the budget.
Character also counts in an endorsement. Steve and his wife Suzanne have served our county and schools for years and they could “ride off into the sunset”, but they have both chosen to stay engaged in our community.
Please join me in supporting and voting for Steve Lynne, either in early voting now or on June 2!
