Financing the Entrepreneurial Enterprise Course in Crowd-Financing Begins Sept. 19
BUSINESS News:
Local entrepreneurs are invited to take a course on launching a startup and getting it funded at the Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation (in the Small Business Center, behind the Post Office).
Nicholas Seet, the founder of the Los Alamos Venture Accelerator (LAVA), will teach Financing the Entrepreneurial Enterprise noon to 4 p.m., each Friday beginning Sept. 19.
The class will be hands-on, project-based and cover entrepreneurship theory and best practices, building a team, identifying resources, and raising funds.

Extensive permanent streams exist only in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico. The Los Alamos area is typical of this pattern. The few perennial streams are in the higher elevations toward the Valles Caldera, while many intermittent and ephemeral streams are in the lower elevations toward the Rio Grande.

Today, Los Alamos High School student Jonmichael Weaver and home school student Savannah Martinez will compete in a small business grand championship, as part of Los Alamos ScienceFest activities.

The Los Alamos School Board will hold a Special Board Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 in the School Administration Board Room, 2075 Trinity Dr.
The Board will conduct interviews with the four candidates vying for School Board Position #3, recently vacated by David Foster who is moving out of town.

The projects ranged from software that helps prevent cybersecurity attacks to reducing water usage for the energy industry.
