UNM-Los Alamos invites the community to a lecture by Dr. Harshini Mukundan, 10-11 a.m. Monday, April 25 in the Jeannette O. Wallace Hall, room 505 at UNM-LA.
Los Alamos National Laboratory researcher Mukundanwill address the re-emergence of tuberculosis in a lecture titled “The Microbe Strikes Back: The Return of Tuberculosis.” Dr. Mukundan will discuss her research on the rise of multidrug resistant tuberculosis, its growing threat to human health, and how effective diagnosis can prevent its spread and save lives.

Mountain PTA Raises $5,000 For Extra Playground Equipment

The Mountain Elementary School PTA has raised $5,000 for new playground equipment.
The school is paying to replace a climbing wall deemed a safety hazard due to age. This wall was donated by a family with a new climbing structure called the Monarch Climber. The PTA bought additional equipment to go with the climber, like balance boards, spring pods and a Buddy Bench.
