PAC 8 Online Auction Fundraiser Underway

PAC 8 is holding an online auction that includes gift items for Valentines Day and other occaisions. This annual fundraiser helps to keep the station going.

Classic Air Medical has donated a helicopter ride for up to three people. The Reel Deal Theater donated a one year movie pass. Pajarito Mountain has donated ski passes. The auction also includes art work, jewelry, gift certificates, flowers, clothing and much more.

PAC 8 has a total annual budget of less than $100,000. This includes everything – scholarships for kids, salaries, video production equipment, insurance and much more. PAC 8 really stretches its dollars.
 
PAC 8 was the first step for students who went on to successful careers in video and commercial television. Former PAC 8 students now have successful careers in
Hollywood, Denver, Albuquerque and other cities. One even worked on a Harry Potter film and Jurassic World.
 
PAC 8 records and airs many community programs such as Los Alamos Council on Cancer, Los Alamos Heart Council, Historical Society lectures, Chamber of Commerce events and more. It also provides video classes for children, teens and adults.
 
PAC 8 provides other services to the community such as transferring media, free technical help for citizens and free public service announcements to any individual or organization in Los Alamos.
 
PAC 8 is a non-profit organization and partners with many organizations in the community.
 
President’s Challenge
 
PAC 8 Board President Dave Schiferl will match each dollar donated to PAC 8 with one of his own, up to $300. Donations totaling $300 will give $600 to PAC 8. His offer does not apply to bids, only to outright donations to PAC 8. Find the President’s Challenge on the home page of the auction here.
