LACA News:

The Los Alamos Concert Association has engaged a rising young star, pianist Natasha Paremski, to replace Ingrid Fliter who has regretfully cancelled her performance May 7 for family reasons.

Ms. Paremski’s program will include Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Brahms’ Variations on a Theme by Paganini and three mazurkas and the Scherzo No. 4 in E Major, Op. 54 by Chopin.

Hailed by the Washington Post as “a pianist of prodigious technique and striking stage presence”, Natasha Paremski began her piano studies at the age of 4 with Nina Malikova at Moscow’s Andreyev School of Music. After moving to the US at age 8, she studied at the San Francisco Conservatory making her professional orchestral debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at age15. She graduated from the Mannes College of Music in New York in 2007.

Recipient of the Gilmore Young Artists award, the Prix Montblanc, and Switzerland’s Orpheum Stiftung Prize, she was recognized in 2010 as the Classical Recording Foundation’s Young Artist of the Year.

A regular with London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ms. Paremski tours widely, appearing with orchestras throughout the US and Europe. Her recital appearances include performances at the Ravinia Festival, London’s Wigmore Hall, the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and the Musashino Performing Arts Center in Tokyo.

The Los Alamos Concert Association is dedicating this concert to the memory of Rosalie Heller, long-time LACA Artistic Director and Santa Fe Living Treasure.

The Los Alamos concert will take place at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 7, in the Duane Smith Auditorium.

Tickets ($30) are available at the Lensic box office in Santa Fe, in Los Alamos at CB FOX and Smith’s Marketplace and at Smith’s in White Rock or electronically at www.ticketssantafe.com. Tickets at the door are $35.
