Los Alamos Tennis Advances To Finals Week In District Tournament, JV Tennis Wins In Albuquerque

SPORTS News:

The Los Alamos High School tennis team advanced to the finals round of the district tournament this weekend with the boys finishing first and girls second in the group stage. The Los Alamos boys’ team won every match over the weekend with 9-0 wins over both Espanola Valley HS and Taos HS without dropping a set. The Los Alamos girls team beat Taos 9-0, but fell to a very strong EVHS team 8-1.

This weekend the girls’ team will face St. Michael’s in the district quarterfinals, while the boys go directly to the semifinals to face the winner of St. Michael’s vs Taos.

The JV boys’ and girls’ teams also competed this weekend at a tournament in Albuquerque. The girls team won the tournament without dropping a match, and the boys team made it to the final before falling to Albuquerque Academy.
