Los Alamos High School Graduate Lee Powell Wins Third Edward R. Murrow

Lee Powell, a 1994 graduate of Los Alamos High School was awarded his third Edward R. Murrow award for three stories he wrote and videotaped and put online for the Washington Post in 2014.  
Powell has been a video journalist for the Post for two years. He previously was with the AP in Washington for seven years and won two Murrows while working with them.
The awards gala was held in New York City Oct. 12 and his parents David and Irene Powell of Los Alamos were able to attend.
The Murrow Awards has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism since 1971.
