LABB News:
The Los Alamos Big Band’s Annual Holiday Dance 7:30-10:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, is open to the public at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall in Los Alamos.
The dance raises funds for the IHM church youth group and provides the local community a fun evening for all ages.
The Los Alamos Big Band, or LABB, is a 16-instrument 1940s Glenn Miller-style swing band. The current band has been playing at dances and other events throughout Northern New Mexico since 1984 under the direction of Jan McDonald, who joined the LA All-Stars in 1963 and for many years was the band director at Los Alamos High School.
Come enjoy the holiday dance this Saturday night, featuring big band era favorites and Christmas tunes such as “Moonlight Serenade” and “Winter Wonderland”. Don’t forget your dancing shoes!
