I am writing to express my gratitude and appreciation to Sombrillo Skilled Nursing Center in Los Alamos.
My mom, who just turned 89 last week, has been living at Sombrillio for the last year and a half. During this time I have been so very impressed with every facet of the facility.
I live in New York and even though I come to visit as often as possible, I never have to worry about the care mom is getting. In fact, the staff feels like family to me and when I arrive or when I check in on the phone, everyone is so friendly and helpful.
My sister visits mom at least once a week (she lives in Santa Fe) and she feels the same way about Sombrillo as I do. We were so worried about mom’s care as she aged and nursing homes can have such a bad reputation – you hear horror stories about them all the time.
Sombrillo is spotlessly clean. Every single staff member is personable and caring from the nurses to the therapists, from the food servers to the aides. It’s amazing how much they care. You can sense their devotion to the well being of the residents in every interaction.
We are so thrilled and appreciate that our mom is getting the best possible care for her remaining years. I want to spread the word about Sombrillo: To us it is a miracle!
