It happened again yesterday when I was out canvassing with my son for a local political candidate. A little boy, maybe five or six, answered the door and told us he was home “all alone”. Sometimes I think the parents are there taking a well deserved break with their feet up, but yesterday the little boy seemed really alone. He was just a little too interested in our campaign info.
My 13-year-old was with me in Quemazon a few weeks ago when this happened and she grumbled – always being the tactful one – “Didn’t their parents ever teach them not to open doors for complete strangers!”
She was right though, I wish parents would.
