Over the weekend, LASG gymnasts travelled to Aurora, Colo. for the Xcel Region 3 gymnastics competition.
The competition included Platinum and Diamond level gymnasts from Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming comprising 114 teams with a total of 571 gymnasts.
LASG finished strong in the Senior C Diamond division with a 3rd place bronze all-around finish from Brianna Fryer (36.70). Fryer took the bronze medal on vault (9.00), 4th place on uneven bars (9.225), 6th place on beam (9.05) and 6th place on floor (9.425). In the Senior B Diamond division, Sara Gardner placed 14th in the all-around (34.50), 4th on vault (8.95) and 9th on beam (8.825).
Kylee Lovato represented LASG with another strong showing in the Junior A Diamond division, the youngest division of the meet, with a 3rd place bronze all-around finish (36.60).
Lovato took the gold on vault (9.175), silver on beam (9.225), 4th on uneven bars (9.125) and 10th on floor (9.075). In the Junior B Diamond division, Colette Bibeault placed 7th all-around (35.20). Bibeault took the bronze medal on vault (9.25), 8th on uneven bars (8.575) and 10th on floor (9.00).
In the Junior C Diamond division, Danielle Trellue placed 15th in the all-around (33.6) and 8th on vault (8.95).
In the Junior D Diamond division, Megan Brown placed 14th all-around with an 11th place finish on uneven bars (8.625).
LASG had one Platinum competitor in the Senior B Platinum division, Aspen Kendall. Kendall finished 12th all-around and placed 9th on beam (8.40).
LASG is coached by Loui Janecky, Svetlana Skurikhin, and Miles Beaux. This coming weekend the Gold gymnasts will be travelling to Galveston, Texas for the Region 3 competition.
