LAPS News:

The Los Alamos Middle School WEB Crew (WEB stands for Where Everybody Belongs) started the year off strong.

They day before school started they welcomed more than 241 seventh graders to LAMS with a four-hour orientation.

The goal of the event was to ease the transition from elementary school to middle school and get students ready for a new year. Fifty-six eighth grade leaders spent time during the summer to receive the training they needed to welcome the newest Hawks.

During the orientation, the WEB Crew students had a fundraising raffle to support program activities. One staff member helped the students raise $112 by letting them cut off her long hair during a raffle. She donated her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program that makes wigs for cancer patients.
