ART News:
Los Alamos High School junior Wren Hammond won the 2025 Congressional Art Competition for Teresa Leger Fernandez’s District 3. Wren’s artwork, “Celebrating Diversity the New Mexico Way,” will hang as part of the Congressional Exhibition of National Winners at the US Capitol in Washington DC for one year.
Wren will travel to Washington DC for a ceremony honoring the national winners and will have a tour of the Capital including the exhibit. She will also have the opportunity to meet with Congresswoman Leger Fernandez.
“We are very proud of Wren and this accomplishment,” LAHS art teacher Mary Grace said. “She is extremely talented, and I am very happy that she is being recognized for her artwork.”
According to Ms. Grace, this is the second year in a row that a student from Los Alamos High School has won the Congressional Art Competition for District 3. Catherine Price was the 2024 winner.
