FSN Presents: Financial Peace University

FSN News:

Discover the peace and freedom of taking charge of your finances by participating in the Financial Peace University, starting Thursday, Sept. 8.

Financial Peace University is a program created by Dave Ramsey to help people avoid financial stress. We all need a plan for our money. This 10-week course will guide you through the basics of budgeting, dumping debt, planning for the future, and much more! Some class topics include relating to money, super saving, cash flow, buyer awareness, mortgages, and real estate.

Jane Longmire, a participant from last semester’s course shared the following, “I have found financial peace! I am on my way to being debt free, and get more and more excited about reaching this goal as each month passes. I have my emergency fund, and a real budget, and have gone from five credit cards to two”.

Two couples, Dan and Amber Rushton and Dave and Terra Hite, will tag team as the instructors for the course. Participants will take great comfort in knowing that the instructors were once Financial Peace University students who have greatly benefited from the program.

After many years of eating beans and rice and drinking powdered milk, the Rushtons and their six children enjoy living debt free on one income (and real milk!). They are excited to inspire and be inspired as they work with you on the journey to living a life of financial peace.

Dave and Terra Hite completed Financial Peace University 4 ½ years ago and felt inspired to facilitate the class for others. The program not only improved how they relate to each other, but also helped them live more consciously and in line with their ethics. They now enjoy living debt free, have a full emergency fund, are planning for retirement and college, and give generously to the charities and causes in which they believe.

The course is 6-8 p.m., Thursdays, Sept. 8 through Nov. 10 in White Rock (location to be determined). Cost of the course is $100 per couple, and babysitting is provided onsite. Anyone interested in the program is invited to try the first class at no cost. Financial aid is available upon request. Babysitting should be requested at least one week in advance.
