The Espanola YMCA Teen Center hosted its fourth annual Str8 Ballin’ Basketball Tournament Saturday, June 16.

The event drew 150 audience members and 44 youth-age participants.

The youth of Espanola were given a chance to shine and that is what we, the Espanola YMCA Teen Center are all about. The teens love it when they have a passion and interest in something whether it’s big or small and are given an opportunity to be noticed.

Once involved they bloom with self-confidence and learn new positive things about themselves.

It is through this encouragement and positive enforcement along with the encouragement of their fellow community that can spark change and in turn can ignite greatness within.

We urge the local and surrounding communities to come out and be a supportive part of next year’s tournament, and all future EYTC events.

We extend a huge thank you to all of our donors and supporters – we could not have done it without you.
