The Los Alamos County Fire Department, (LAFD) has been selected by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to participate in the second phase of a pilot program to build a digital community risk assessment (CRA) tool.

Harry Burgess’ time as Los Alamos County Manager is coming to an end. After 10 years leading the County, Burgess will retire May 28. He announced his retirement earlier this month.

Burgess’ time working in the County has been anything but dull. During his tenure, the County has responded to record-breaking wildfires, floods and snowstorms, and that was all before the pandemic hit.

Curative Testing Underway At Overlook Park Until 2 PM … Slots Are Still Available

COUNTY News:
Residents who need a COVID-19 test are reminded that they can visit the Curative-staffed testing site today until 2 p.m. at Overlook Park in White Rock by simply registering online for a test slot and then driving to the park. 
As of late this morning, 76 slots were still available to get the “saliva swab” test offered by Curative.

Los Alamos County announced this morning that notifications for senior COVID-19 vaccinations have been sent to individuals to schedule their appointments.

Los Alamos County Social Services Department would like to share some clarifying instructions to avoid confusion and frustration when scheduling your appointment.

Clarifying Instructions:

  • Do not check the box stating “Yes, I have an event code”; and
  • Do not enter your unique code in the “Event Code” field.

Construction of the kiddie/multigenerational pool project is scheduled to begin the first week of February at the Aquatic Center on canyon Road.
