Today is the annual “Trick or Treat on MainStreet” extravaganza – so don your Halloween costume and head downtown for all the fun from 4-6:30 p.m.

Council Meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers

What’s on the agenda? They’ll consider appointments for the new Creative District Advisory Committee, and they’re also going to introduce the ordinance for a new Sign Code – an item that may be of interest to residents – the Sign Code ordinance will go to a public hearing at the Council meeting on Nov. 13. New Teen Center – What’s the Scoop? Find out Nov. 1

The project team will hold an informational meeting with the public on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers (475 20th St.) – they would like to bring everyone up to speed on what’s been happening in the last few months. You may have heard that the team has been evaluating options – at Council’s request – to renovate and use existing space at Central Park Square, instead of building the proposed facility that had been sketched out last spring on property the County owns at Lavy Lane (on Trinity Drive.) Get the latest updates on the project when you go to the meeting on Thursday!

National Novel Writing Month Kicks Off on Nov. 1

Are you up for writing 50,000 words in 30 days? Mesa Library will offer write-ins, or support groups for writers, resources and general encouragement as part of this month-long celebration of writing – why not give it a try?
