Next Council Meeting – Moved from TUESDAY to FRIDAY!

The Los Alamos County Council took action at its last meeting to move some of their Council meetings to Fridays at lunch-time instead of Tuesday evenings – hoping that a broader segment of residents might attend.

The first of these meetings is set for noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 10 in Council Chambers.

The Airport Master Plan’s adoption is the business item on the agenda, which can be downloaded on the County webpage no later than noon Tuesday. (Note: this means there will NOT be a Council meeting Tuesday, May 7) – link here below on Tuesday afternoon for the Friday agenda:

Hike & Bike Trails’ Community Plan – Public Meeting Wednesday

Have you read the plan yet? Comments? Attend this meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Fuller Lodge with Open Space Specialist Craig Martin and let him know what you think. Public comment on Open Forum remains active until May 17, too, so if you can’t attend Wednesday’s meeting – give us your feedback on line here:

Prescription Drug Take Back Day Big Success

LAPD had two locations set up April 27 and reported this week that they had record numbers of participation – good job Los Alamos & White Rock! That’s good news for getting unwanted/unused prescription drugs safely disposed and out of our community. Read the news release from LAPD here:

Water Rule W-8 Now in Effect

It’s May! That means Department of Public Utilities’ water rule W-8 is now in effect. Odd numbered addresses irrigate Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Even numbered addresses irrigate Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
