County Council Meeting Tuesday

The County Council will hold its first work session of the year at 7 p.m. in White Rock Fire Station #3. What’s on the agenda? This will be a time for the newly seated council to review such items as committee appointments, council rules, and the council’s strategic goals that have been adopted. KRSN 1490 AM broadcasts work sessions live – so tune in and listen to the discussion. Download the agenda here: http://www.losalamosnm.us/gov/council/Pages/default.aspx

Looking for Naming Committee Members

The County Administrator announced that he will form a committee of citizens and members of the business community to hold public hearings on a request to name the New Municipal Building after State Representative Jeannette Wallace. County Code dictates the process to be used when this kind of special request is brought forward, and you can read more on how to apply when you link below! (and watch for more details on how you can give your input to the Committee in next week’s County Line newsletter.) http://www.losalamosnm.us/news/Pages/CountyAdministratorSeeksMembersforNamingCommittee.aspx

Still looking for Dept. of Public Utilities’ Charter Committee Members, too

Don’t forget that the deadline to apply for this new Council Committee is just about a week away (Jan. 21). If you have management or accounting experience, or, if you simply are interested in the “at large” position, why not apply? TREASURES & TIDBITS

It’s going to be extra COLD this weekend!

Be sure to take precautions to bundle up if you’re working outside, make arrangements for pets if they’re outside animals (or bring them inside) – plus, you may also want to take steps such as letting a faucet drip overnight to keep water pipes from freezing. Learn more about how to be prepared on our Weather Emergencies webpage: http://www.losalamosnm.us/emo/Pages/WeatherEmergencies.aspx
