Pavement Preservation Program
Crews will be working to finish on Cañada Way then moving to Rover from Carlsbad to Grand Canyon, and the Longview. Flyers will be distributed 48 hours in advance of work beginning in the immediate area. Once construction gets to your area, please ensure that all vehicles are parked off-street. Expect flagging operations, minor delays, and typical construction activity. Please note that progress may be slowed by rain or mechanical delays.
Other Los Alamos streets included in this year’s program include Range Road and North Mesa Road from Hawk Drive to just east of the Posse Lodge. If you live on any of these streets, please watch for your 48 hour notice.
Eastern Area 2 Concrete, Paving & Utility Project – Phase 1
Eastern Area residents are encouraged to use 15th Street to access Central or NM502.
Work continues on Myrtle between 9th Street and 15th Street. This section of Myrtle is closed to through traffic with flagging operations during the day and two-way traffic at night.
The work zone on Canyon Road will be extended to between NM502 to just south of Nugget. This section is closed to through traffic; however, residential access will be maintained. Residents can expect flagging operations on Canyon Road during the day time, and two-way traffic at night. Minor delays may be experienced. All through traffic must seek alternate routes;
4th Street is scheduled for paving on Monday and remains closed to through traffic. Residential traffic should expect flagging and possible delays during the paving process.
NM4 Improvements Project
Expect intermittent traffic control as the contractor completes identified punch list items in order to reach final completion.
NMDOT Concrete Work on Trinity
Starting on Tuesday, August 7, expect lane drops on Trinity Drive between 35th Street and Oppenheimer as the NMDOT replaces deteriorated sections of curb, gutter, and some sidewalks. Work will start on the eastbound side of Trinity and continue east to approximately Oppenheimer.
West Road Closed Due to Potential Flooding
Due to safety concerns related to potential flash flooding in the canyon, LANL and the County have closed West Road until the monsoon season is over.
