Come See Las Vegas Artist Justin Favela Install His Piece In The Piñata Exhibit Aug. 14-20

ALBUQUERQUE  Las Vegas artist Justin Favela will be installing his latest piñata piece in The Piñata Exhibit (Sure to be a Smash Hit!) at the National Hispanic Cultural Center Art Museum from Aug. 14-20.
 
Working in the media of painting, sculpture, performance, and, most importantly, piñatas, Favela draws from art history, popular culture, and his Guatemalan/Mexican heritage. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and has exhibited his work across the United States in notable shows at venues including the Contemporary Arts Center, Trifecta Gallery, the Clark County Government Center, the Nevada Museum of Art, the New Mexico Museum of Art, and the Denver Art Museum.
 
Come admire his process, ask him questions, and watch his piece coming to life!
 
The NHCC Art Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Admission fees are $6 for adults (17+) and $5 for NM residents (17+). Admission is free for youth (16 and under), NHCC Foundation members, seniors (60+) on Wednesdays, veterans and US active duty military personnel between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and NM residents on the first Sunday of each month.
