Celebrate New Mexico Restaurant Week With ‘New Mexico True’ Dishes And Events

NMTD News:

SANTA FE  As if New Mexico Restaurant Week weren’t already enticing enough, this year it’s even more tempting with the addition of ‘New Mexico True’ designated menus and events.

New Mexico Restaurant Week, which covers three different weeks in three New Mexico cities, runs Feb. 21 to March 13, so that foodies can satisfy their palates for much more than a week.

This year marks the first time that New Mexico Restaurant Week has teamed up with the New Mexico Tourism Department. Through the New Mexico True Event Sponsorship Program, the organizations are partnering to increase the impact that the event will have by identifying menus and events that are ‘New Mexico True’.

The menus designated ‘New Mexico True’ feature dishes that are 100 percent sourced with products grown or made in New Mexico, while the designated ‘New Mexico True’ events showcase authentic New Mexican cuisine through unique classes and demonstrations.

“Cuisine is a top motivator for travel, as is learning or experiencing something you’ve never tried before,” Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Latham said. “These incredible menus and events give locals and visitors alike reason to travel and try something different, be it a new way to prepare a traditional New Mexican dish, or new way to enjoy locally sourced ingredients.”

Some of the restaurants featuring ‘New Mexico True’ menus during Restaurant Week include: El Meze and Medley in Taos; Il Piatto Italian Farmhouse Kitchen and Georgia in Santa Fe; and Amore Neapolitan Pizzeria and Pasión Latin Fusion in Albuquerque. A complete list of all restaurants featuring ‘New Mexico True’ Restaurant Week menus is available here
