Becoming a Love and Logic Parent is an evidence-based course that is designed to help parents at all stages of parenting. Family Strengths Network has scheduled three Love and Logic classes so you can choose the one that’s right for you.
Parents of young children will benefit from the early childhood class by learning how to respond to temper tantrums and set boundaries. Time is built into class to meet other parents and learn what has worked and hasn’t worked for them.
The class for parents of school-age children will help parents raise children who are self-confident, motivated, and ready for the real world with a win/win strategy. Your children win because they will learn to solve their own problems. You win because you establish control – without resorting to anger, threats, and nagging or exhausting power struggles.
In the class for parents of teens, we will discuss specific answers to common challenges, including how to determine when teens are ready for more responsibility and how to set appropriate limits regarding school, parties, driving and other issues. You will also polish your communication skills to help you discuss important issues with your teen, including risk-taking behaviors such as use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and sexual activity.
