The CROP Organization and the Atomic City Road Runners Club will co-sponsor the Annual Turkey Trot event at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Los Alamos Middle School.
All proceeds will be split with 25 percent going to LA Cares and 75 percent going to the CROP Organization, one of the late Aaron Goldman’s favorite charities.
The top 25 fastest runners will be recognized and all participants will have a chance to win turkeys and pumpkin pies in a random drawing.
There is no event fee, but donatinos of money or food are welcome.

The Los Alamos CROP Hunger Walk was started in 1997 by Aaron Goldman. It was soon combined with the Turkey Trot and is held each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Founded in 1946, Church World Service is a cooperative ministry of 37 Christian communions working together to eradicate hunger and poverty and promote peace and justice among the world’s most vulnerable people.

Within the United States, Church World Services assists communities in responding to local hunger and disasters, resettles refugees, promotes fair national and international policies, provides educational resources and offers opportunities to join a people-to-people network of local and global caring through participation in CROP Hunger Walks.
