Are you thinking about the end of your career of serving our students and communities? This process can be difficult to navigate, and we want to help you plan and prepare for your retirement when you are ready.

To provide clear guidance and useful tips, AFT New Mexico and the AFT New Mexico Retirees are partnering with the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board to host two different workshops where you can learn and ensure that you have taken the necessary steps to retire on your own timetable.

Even if you don’t have a firm date in mind about when retirement is right for you, we invite you to take part in either of the two following workshops:

• 4:30-6 p.m., Friday, April 21; and
• 4:30-6 p.m., Friday, May 19.

Both workshops are being presented in a hybrid format to allow for greater participation.

Finally, as an added benefit of participation, we will have information from AFT New Mexico’s Retiree Local (#8029R) to present the benefits and opportunities of maintaining an active membership in our union – even after retirement.
