The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) is introducing a new Climate Café series, offering a welcoming, facilitator-guided space for community dialogue and reflection on our emotional responses to a changing climate.
The first session will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, at Los Alamos Nature Center.
The Climate Café series provides an open, supportive environment where participants can share experiences, explore practices that support mental wellness, and build climate resilience. Each gathering invites attendees to discuss and explore climate‐related feelings—whether concern, grief, hope, or uncertainty—within a respectful and compassionate community setting.
Sessions may include emotionally complex conversations as participants talk openly about their responses to climate change. Light refreshments, coffee, and tea will be available. Preregistration is encouraged, though drop‐ins are welcome.
Admission: Free. Registration: Preregistration encouraged; drop‐ins welcome. Due to the nature of these discussions, the program may not be appropriate for children under 16.
The Climate Café series will continue monthly, offering ongoing opportunities for community members to connect, reflect, and support one another as they navigate the emotional dimensions of climate change.
The next Climate Cafe is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies.
