20th Annual Los Alamos Photo Show March 30 – May 2

The Los Alamos Photo Club is hosting its 20th Annual Show March 30 through May 2.
 
Anyone interested in participating in the show must drop off their work at Mesa Public Library on Central Avenue 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28.
 
Ken Hanson and Doug Coombs are co-chairs of the Los Alamos Photo Club and the Los Alamos Adobe Users Group. They explained that the show is intended to give people who live and work in Los Alamos a chance to display their photos in a formal setting. It is not juried.

LAPC has monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. The meetings are 7-9 p.m., upstairs in Fuller Lodge Art Center. Annual dues are $15. Topics vary and include discussions and presentations on products such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, other photo processing software, various software to publish photographic galleries to the web, framing, photographic techniques and more. Photo sharing and photo travel logs are very common. The club also sponsors occasional field trips.
 
In lieu of the regular LAPC meeting, at 7 p.m., April 21, the LAPC meeting will be a walkthrough of the show. This is a chance for the photographers to ask questions of each other and to exchange information. Everyone is welcome, photographer or not.

  • Sunday, March 29, 1-4 p.m. – Participants Hang Photos;
  • Monday, March 30, 5:30-7 p.m. – Opening Reception;
  • Tuesday, April 21, 7-9 p.m. – Walkthrough of Show; and 
  • Saturday, May 2, Pick Up Photos.
