Zia Credit Union News:
Zia Credit Union members are invited to the Annual Meeting at 5:30 p.m. on May 22 (at the Los Alamos branch and online). Zia Credit Union is one of only two full-service financial institutions that was formed in Los Alamos County and that continues to have headquarters and senior management teams here.
Zia gives back to the northern New Mexico community in many ways, from donating to local nonprofits, to sponsoring youth sports, to providing personalized service and passing valuable savings and benefits to its members. Zia stands out for offering unique products, tailoring services to individual needs, and making an impact through community events, sponsorships, and donations.
On one day alone (April 20), Zia Credit Union employees supported the PEEC Earth Day celebration, the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake, and The Family YMCA 2024 Annual Gala.
The Zia Rate Zap, Zia’s member loyalty program, helps members get higher rates on interest-bearing accounts, and lower rates on loans. Zia matches rates on loans from other institutions, helping northern New Mexicans get the very best for their money.
Zia Credit Union President and CEO Dwayne Herrera
“Zia has a long tradition in Los Alamos, nearly 70 years, and we are proud to be headquartered here,” Zia President and CEO Dwayne Herrera said. “People come in and meet with members of our senior leadership team, and they know we take good care of them. As a credit union, we pass our profits back to our members, providing great benefits. Since we are headquartered here, we have a vested interest in seeing our community thrive, and we are very active in volunteering and giving in our community.”
Zia CU has been nominated for Financial Institution of the Year through the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce. Voting is open to the public (ages 18 and up) through 10 p.m. on May 7. Please share the word and vote soon! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GTH6C9X
