One thing is for certain, this summer’s activities will look a lot different than they have in the past. When Zia Credit Union realized that due to the ongoing COVID gathering restrictions it wouldn’t be able to hold its annual Summer Music Fest in Española or sponsor an evening during the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series, it decided to try something new.
The result is a virtual concert live on Facebook 7-8 p.m. Friday, June 19. The concert will feature Divino, a Northern New Mexico band that plays uplifting Latin music.
“We wanted to do something for the community, to give them something positive during this time of much uncertainty and worry,” Zia Credit Union CEO Dwayne Herrera said. “Divino is sure to get people on their feet in their own living rooms. You can’t just sit and listen to their music – I’m sure you’ll want to get up and move to the music. We have always honored first responders at our annual music fest in Española. This year we want to expand that to also recognize our healthcare and other essential workers and 2020 graduates.”
Divino is Northern New Mexico’s acoustic group playing traditional Latin music. Originally formed out of Española, Divino is made up of 4 members Fernando Romero, Anthony Lucero, Andrea Lucero and Mike Chavez. Their core values revolve around Family, Community, Faith and Tradition. The group has performed all around the country, especially here in Northern New Mexico including at the Zia Summer Music Fest and the Los Alamos Summer Concert Series.
Besides great music, during the one-hour Facebook Live event there will be special shout outs and dedications, as well as a raffle for a chance to win one of three gift baskets. Each gift basket will include everything needed to kick off the summer right – a cooler bag, a set of insulated glasses, a Bluetooth speaker, earbuds, Divino merchandise and more, PLUS a $100 prepaid debit card from Zia Credit Union.
