Curious about buying your first telescope but unsure where to start? The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) invites aspiring stargazers to attend Your First Telescope!, a free, beginner-friendly program 7-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 17 at the Los Alamos Nature Center Planetarium.
During this engaging presentation, participants will:
- Learn about the main types of telescopes and their characteristics;
- Compare the pros and cons of different models; and
- Explore tips and resources to help choose the perfect instrument for observing the night sky.
- The doors open at 6:45 p.m., and admission is free. While all are welcome, planetarium events are generally not recommended for children under 5.
