From Mullein Leaf Wellness Institute:
Registration is now open for the “Women’s Mind-Body Masterclass” hosted by Mullein Leaf Wellness Institute. This 4-week masterclass begins Sept. 18.
About “Women’s Mind-Body Masterclass”
Are you Stressed? Tired? Low Sex Drive? Depressed? Anxious? Each of these can be signs of a dysregulated nervous system, often fueled by past traumatic experiences. Trauma lives on in the body, especially the nervous system. Come learn to release and rewire yourself.
We have learned that trauma is not just an event that took place sometime in the past; it is also the imprint left by that experience on mind, brain, and body. This imprint has ongoing consequences for how the human organism manages to survive in the present. Trauma results in a fundamental reorganization of the way mind and brain manage perceptions. It changes not only how we think and what we think about, but also our very capacity to think.
― Bessel A. van der Kolk, The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma
This didactic and experiential group learning opportunity will help you understand the nervous system response to stress/trauma; experience moving your body to release the tension/trauma; and establish self-care for responsible engagement in an unpredictable world. We will read excerpts from van der Kolk’s book “The Body Keeps the Score” and Porges’ book “Our Polyvagal World”.
This 4-week masterclass runs from noon to 2 p.m. on Sept. 18 & 25 and Oct. 2 & 9. The cost is $250 plus tax; participants purchase their book separately.
