Staff Report

Los Alamos Police Detectives continue searching for the woman who has been on the lam since Sept. 17.

Irene Quintana, 49, of Chamita is wanted on a warrant with two felony charges: Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Conspiracy. Quintana is suspected of attempting to send controlled substances through the mail into the Los Alamos County Jail earlier this month

Det. Sgt. Oliver Morris commended alert jail staff who were able to ascertain the contraband coming into the Jail – ensuring the environment is safe from outside influences.

“We also will not fail to investigate anyone who attempts to perform such actions in the future,” Morris said in an earlier interview of anyone considering mailing contrband to the local jail.

Quintana is 5’4” and approximately 162 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. She was last known driving a black GMC Yukon with tinted windows and 20-inch rims.

Anyone with information regarding her where abouts is urged to contact the Los Alamos Police Department dispatch line at 662-8222. Police are offering a $100 reward to anyone who supplies information that leads to Quintana’s arrest. Callers may remain anonymous.
