The community is invited to see the winning video mockumentaries at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. on the big screen in the Nature Center’s planetarium.
The Pajarito Film Club is hosting the screening of four 10-minute video shorts submitted to the first ever Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet contest. Admission is free.
Following the screening, the Pajarito Film Club will conduct a brief awards ceremony, during which film program graduates who judged the films will review judging criteria and the categories for which each film is being awarded. The winning mockumentarians will be awarded cash prizes in the form of Chamber Checks compliments of the Los Alamos Creative District.
The viewing audience can enter a raffle for prizes from the New Mexico film worker’s union (IATSE Local 480 Community Outreach program). Popcorn and beverages will be provided by the Los Alamos Teen Center and Los Alamos Film Office.
The Trick-or-Treat on MainStreet Mockumentary contest is sponsored by Pajarito Film Club, a grassroots group of local residents with a variety of experience in different aspects of the film industry, who want to create a thriving film culture in Los Alamos. The club of volunteers is working with the Los Alamos Film Office, the Los Alamos Creative District and the Los Alamos Teen Center to develop a series of programs, events and opportunities to participate in the New Mexico film industry.
