It’s time again for Los Alamos voters to support the future health and vitality of our community through continued improvement of the physical environment in which our children and youth learn and grow.
A vote for the General Obligation Bond WILL NOT increase the current tax rate but WILL allow the Los Alamos Public Schools reach the goal of raising $30 million to complete construction at Piñon and Chamisa as well as important renovation and upgrades at all 5 other schools.
Rebuilding Piñon and Chamisa is possible because the State awarded LAPS $35 million, CONTINGENT on the passage of the GO bond this election. That’s a great return on our precious tax dollars.
Moreover, passing the GO bond will demonstrate to our Congressional Delegation and the Federal Government that we are committed to providing full financial support to LAPS and continuing to leverage the $8 million that Congress has appropriated annually for over 25 years to keep our schools strong to recruit and retain the talented people needed to carry out the national security science mission at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Early voting begins October 10. Please vote yes as I will.
