Los Alamos resident Diana Rascon opened her Venusto Salon, which means “to be beautify, adorn and make lovely”, in 2013 at 555 Oppenheimer, Suite 102. She is maintaining her Los Alamos salon and now expanding her services as a licensed and experienced cosmetic tattoo artist, on Mondays in Santa Fe at Glow House of Beauty and Pain.

Rascon moved with her parents to Los Alamos from El Paso, Texas, when she was a toddler. She graduated from Los Alamos High School and, having an interest in styling hair, decided to attend the Olympian University of Cosmetology in Albuquerque.

“This is where I discovered my passion for styling and coloring hair,” she said. “After graduating from Olympian, I moved to El Paso where I interned at both a beauty salon and barber shop and obtained my Texas Cosmetologist License.”

It was during her internship that Rascon said she discovered, “I learned everything I did not want to do at my salon”. She moved back to Los Alamos in 2013 and made her dream of opening her own salon come true.

“I am so grateful to the community for supporting me all these years,” Rascon said. “The trust they have placed in me has allowed me to continue to learn the newest techniques and up-and-coming styles. I travel to Mexico City, Nashville, Austin, Phoenix, and other locations around the country to continue my education,” Rascon said. “My priority is making sure that my clients not only look good but that their hair is healthy. If you are looking for your last hair stylist, you have found her with me!”
