Update: Original plans for a temporary closure of the main entrance road to Valles Caldera National Preserve on Monday April 19 have been changed due to weather conditions over the weekend.

The main entrance road will now close to public vehicle use Monday, April 26 for final road surface treatment.

The main entrance road will now reopen to public vehicle use at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 27.

VCNP News:

JEMEZ SPRINGS — The main entrance road to Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP) will be temporarily closed to public vehicle traffic Monday, April 19 for final road surface treatment.

During the road closure, visitors can experience the preserve from multiple scenic overlook pullouts and access several hiking trails along N.M. 4.

The main entrance road will reopen to public vehicle use 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 20.
