NPS News:

JEMEZ SPRINGS — Valles Caldera Ntional Preserve invites community members to join a ranger this summer and experience the park like never before.

Rangers will be offering special programs throughout the season. Join a ranger to learn how to tie a fly, journal about nature, or learn about a special part of the park. Additional special programs that require reservations include fishing clinics, full-moon hikes, star-gazing programs, and astrophotography workshops.

Programs begin May 24 and run through Oct. 5.

Even if your visit doesn’t line up with the guided programs, you can ask a ranger or volunteer to give an impromptu program.

We are also working on two events for everyone to enjoy: a star-watching event in July and the park’s Fall Fiesta in early October.

“This is our most exciting program season to date,” Superintendent Jorge Silva-Bañuelos said. “We hope everyone who visits the park this summer will join one of these ranger-guided programs to gain a better appreciation of Valles Caldera.”

For the full program schedule, visit the park’s Ranger-led Activities web page (https://www.nps.gov/vall/planyourvisit/ranger-led-activities.htm).
