The design on the new Del Norte Credit Union building in White Rock is taking shape. It is being constructed on the vacant SE corner of Rover Boulevard and N.M. 4, directly across the road from where a leased branch currently resides.
Designed to complement the DNCU Los Alamos branch with buff and red stucco and stacked stone, the new White Rock branch also will feature a powerful curved stone wall, paying tribute to the area’s rich Pueblo culture. In contrast, sharp geometric forms that reach skyward are a contemporary nod to the technological heritage of the area.
The new 3,000-square-foot branch will be a full-service faciilty with four teller stations, two drive-thru lanes, ATM service, night deposit drop box service, safe deposit boxes, and local lending offices. The White Rock team will continue to serve the community, making it a seamless transition. Along with all DNCU branches, the new White Rock branch will be a member of the Co-op shared branching network and will welcome the business of other credit union members.
“We are excited and proud to strengthen our presence in White Rock,” Valenti said at the ground breaking ceremony last fall. “The building of our own branch reinforces our commitment to the area—which dates back to the formation of the original credit union in 1954.”
DNCU Supervisory Committee Chairman Roger Stutz echoed Valenti’s sentiment saying, “The time seems right to augment our commitment. We will continue to invest in the communities we serve, especially right here in the roots of Del Norte.”
DNCU is ranked as one of the Top 200 Healthiest Credit Unions in the U.S. by DepositAccounts.com. Its longstanding history with White Rock members dates back to the mid 1970s. Investing in a new branch, rather than continuing to lease space for the branch, strengthens DNCU’s commitment to White Rock members.
Chartered in 1954, DNCU is dedicated to helping its members achieve their financial goals by being a trusted source of unbiased financial advice. Today DNCU serves more than 40,000 members throughout New Mexico.
